Reach System 1

Our Reach System 1 robotic arm modules are small, light-weight, and proven on numerous subsea platforms operating in the field. These modules have a native advanced kinematics engine, allowing rapid deployment on any subsea platform, and are controlled by an intuitive and feature-rich user interface. Capable of operating at a depth of 300m, the Reach System is tough, reliable, and allows for inspection and intervention in remote and hostile environments.

All modules can be configured with the RS1 Mounting Kit which allows for the module to be easily attached to new and existing UUV platforms with an adjustable clutch for setting actuator orientation (45 degree increments). All modules are compatible with REACH Control software, a plug and play user interface solution.

RS1-1100 In-Line Rotate

RS1-1100 is a miniature rotate actuator. Capable of continuous rotation it can be used for a variety of tasks including sonar/video scanning and vectoring thrustors. Compliance on the rotate stage can be activated to provide self protection against accidental impact. Fitted with an additional output connector the actuator is capable of passing power and signals through the rotation joint.

Key features include:

  • Small size (40 x 98mm) and low payload (100g in  water).

RS1-1200 90-Deg Rotate

RS1-1200 is a miniature bend actuator. Capable of high torque it can be used for a variety of tasks including rotating winches, panning heavy cameras or operating valves. Compliance on the bend stage can be activated to provide self protection against accidental impact.

RS1-1300 Grabber

RS1-1300 is a miniature subsea linear actuator. Attached to jaws this device turns into a highly capable grabber, cutter or sampler. When compared the dual function grabber this option is slightly smaller, lighter and available at a lower price point.

RS1-2130 Rotating Grabber

The combination of our rotate and linear stage creates an ultra compact dual function actuator RS1-2130. Configured with jaws this device turns into a highly capable dual function grabber. Compliance on the rotate stage ensures the grabber is not overpowered when lifting unbalanced, heavy objects and optimises stability of the host vehicle during grip.

RS1-2120 Pan-Tilt

The combination of our rotate and bend stage creates a highly capable, ultra compact pan tilt actuator RS1-2120. Configured with sonar, camera and/or lights this device allows for exact output orientations or angular sweeps to be demanded making it a useful tool for search and survey operations.  Compliance on both the rotate and bend stage may be activated to provide self protection against accidental impact.
